OK, so I am only 27 but this morning while drying my hair I was sure I spotted my first grey hair… eeeek. After an intense few minutes of looking at almost every strand of my hair to pluck the little bugger out, I was relieved to not find any grey at all.
This then got me thinking…surely there is something I can use on my hair to prevent grey hair when my time does actually come. So I got searching online and I came across something really unusual…unusual enough to prompt this blog post.
Potato skins!! Now before you rush for the sack of potatoes in your kitchen please read the “how to” guide below…
Step 1: Peel your potatoes, keeping only the potato peelings for your hair treatment.
Step 2: Place the potato peelings in a pan with enough water to just cover the peelings, bring to the boil.
Step 3: Lower the heat for 5-10 minutes and then allow the mixture to cool.
Step 4: Strain the mixture, keeping the water from the pan in a tumbler or glass.
Step 5: Wash your hair as normal but rinse your hair with your potato peelings water.
Apparently this works by darkening your grey hair back to its natural colour but don’t take my word for it because obviously this isn’t something I have needed to try just yet. I am sure the new hair colour treatments from the AVON Advanced Techniques range will be enough for my hair for now.
